Gene was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. He began his adult life studying graphic and fine Arts at the School of Associated Arts in St. Paul receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts and several scholastic awards of excellence. He supported himself during and after art school by working residential construction, siding, and building houses for various small custom home builders. His continued interest in the arts and growing interest in the building construction industry was ultimately combined which led him back to school at the University of Minnesota and graduating with a Master of Architecture. He began his career in Architecture in the mid-west focusing on public Architecture then made a life change move to the PNW and continued his career in Tacoma and ultimately settling in Olympia.
Gene’s other passions involve the love of the outdoors and immersing himself in the beauty of nature with activities such as skiing, backpacking, and kayaking. He continues his avid love of the arts and expression through drawing, swing dancing, playing guitar, model making, and kayak boat building and design.
